I'd rather come up with something workable and buy more copies instead of just having the games refunded. ![]() Not every educational, government, or business institution will allow access to download or install Steam, so we're making it accessible via our machines, where we can install whatever we need to make it work. We're resorting to using these programs remotely to minimize the number of Steam accounts needed, and to streamline access. I contacted them via email and Twitter multiple times to ask about commercial licensing before any of this even started, and never even got a "thanks for your message" reply, let alone any real answers, so I'm resorting to finding a solution myself. I personally owned the game prior to that. We have been testing it for 2 months trying to figure out if it would even work for our purposes, but the devs/publisher aren't helpful at all. Can I suggest that you mark this as the answer for this post? It will help people to find it in the future if they're having a similar issue. Rainway is only browser-based, if I recall correctly, and occasionally benefits from this stuff as well. The installed client software for Parsec seems to get around this okay, but it's basically a requirement for the web client. The biggest issue we'd hit otherwise was having to forward ports and set static IP addresses, since we're using literally dozens of machines at this point. We've jumped between the two because some places may block one URL or service, or the other, and on occasion we've had to lobby to have the filters loosened a bit, but overall, it seems to work pretty well, even at distances over 2000 miles. Both offer pretty good options for accessing the system remotely with relative ease, and both can be run directly in Chrome with no need for an install (which has been a huge benefit, since web filtering and PC permissions on the students' end isn't always in our control).
